Julia Messineo is a psychiatric physician associate who treats both adults and children. She has several years of experience working in psychiatry, and has treated patients from all age groups and various socioeconomic backgrounds. In addition to private practice, she has experience treating children and adolescents in both the partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) program settings. Her skills include establishing diagnoses, assessing symptoms, managing medications, and providing supportive therapy.

Ms. Messineo was born and raised in Rochester, New York where she graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with High Honors. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate schooling at Le Moyne College, a private Jesuit college located in Syracuse, New York. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, and graduated with Magna Cum Laude. Over the course of her collegiate career, she received various awards, including the Dean Scholar Award, Presidential Scholar Award, and Baker Scholar Award. She was a member of the Biology Honor Society amongst various other clubs and organizations. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Dallas, Texas where she commenced her role as a physician associate and found her true calling in psychiatry.

Ms. Messineo is honored to be a part of a team dedicated to providing quality mental health treatment to the members of her community. She is a natural in the field and finds the work very rewarding. The care she provides encompasses the Jesuit concept known as cura personalis, which translates as “care of the whole person.” She prioritizes treating each patient holistically, addressing the entire bio-psycho-social entity of each individual. Her warm and welcoming personality allows her to establish a promising rapport with each of her patients. She goes to great lengths to create a safe and secure environment that allows for vulnerability, openness, and trust. She views communication as a requirement rather than a luxury and ensures that each and every one of her patients feels listened to, validated, and understood.

In addition to psychiatry, Ms. Messineo has various other interests. She is fascinated by the field of integrative and holistic medicine and intends to further her knowledge and experience in these areas. She enjoys spending time with her two dogs and has much admiration for animals in general. She loves the sun and warmth, hence her big transition from New York to Texas, and enjoys spending most of her time being active outdoors. Sushi is her favorite food and she knows all the good spots around town if you’re looking for a quality sushi roll. It is safe to say Texas is her new home. She has put her roots down and hopes to raise a family here in Dallas someday. Needless to say, she is here for the long haul and ready with open arms to provide the quality care you and your loved ones deserve.
